appsbar Recognizes Gadget Guy as App of the Day

April 25th, 2012 admin No comments

St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) April 16, 2012

Because the St. Peterburgs Times Gadget Guy Jack Rowland was one of the first tech writers to chat with Digi about appsbar, and still used him to build an app, http://www.appsbar.com has chosen Gadget Guy as the appsbar app of the day.

Digi likes Florida, looks forward to Rowlands columns covering tech news, and was excited when Rowland used appsbar.com to build an app. According to the app builder his app is a way to keep up with the latest cool gadgets, mobile devices, apps and personal technology news with Jack Rowland, the Gadget Guy in the St. Petersburg Times and on tampabay.com.

Where the app can be downloaded for free: Google Play.

Why Digi likes it:

Its free to download. Someone who could have hired a developer - or did it himself - instead chose to make a dynamic, robust app the easy and free way. Made with appsbar, Rowland used the powerful tools like iPhone app builder, windows app builder & Android apps builder to create a mobile app in easy steps. This app already has 5,000 downloads.

How anyone can make an app:

Simply join the community with an email address and get started on an app. Digi, our loveable robot app coach, is there to help at each step.

About appsbar:

http://www.appsbar.com was launched in 2011 to fill the gap between over-simplified apps and costly, professionally-produced apps. appsbar.com apps each average 500 to 1,000 downloads within the first day of being published. In 2012, appsbar became the leading developer of Android apps with more than 10,000 published. appsbar was developed by Appsbar Inc., a company founded by Scott Hirsch. appsbar has grown to a community of everyday app developers and opened the way for businesses and people to engage with friends and brands online through the development of customizable digital tools. #SourceCamp
Event on 2012-10-30 09:30:00

Brought To You By:

#SourceCamp

The story of SourceCamp starts in Amsterdam in November of 2011.

Oscar Mager and I met in a restaurant near the center of Amsterdam and we talked about the need to educate the European community on the mysteries and mystique of Direct Sourcing.

But Not Resourcing

We wanted to find a manner in which we could not only create a new generation of European Sourcers who understand and utilize:

  • Boolean Best Practices
  • Social Profile/Data Gathering
  • Blogs Profiling
  • Leverage Search Engine Data and Structure/Patterns
  • Harness the server power of Google
  • Use the Sourcer's Toolbelt to find information faster and more acurately
  • Leverage online Social Media to build effective Talent Communities
  • and...Master Linkedin instead of allowing the system to Master You.

Thus the ideal of #SourceCamp was born

TrackPackages.com Releases Google Gadget for Tracking Packages with UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS

September 18th, 2011 admin No comments

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 19, 2007

TrackPackages.com has released a new version of the popular search engine tool for RSS readers, and also a new Google Gadget, which extends the functionality of the search box to personalized iGoogle homepages, other RSS readers and embedding in web pages or email.

This is a handy desktop tool for retail and auction buyers and sellers who regularly deal with multiple package tracking carriers, and prefer and single simple interface to begin their package search. The gadget or RSS feed sits in a very compact spot on your homepage or feedreader, and launches your desired tracking carrier number from a single text box.

The Google Gadget supports UPS tracking, FedEx tracking, DHL tracking, and United States Postal Service USPS tracking from a single search box, with and option of going to any of these tracking package landing pages of their respective sites.

View the Google Gadget page for the Trackpackages.com engine here:

http://www.google.com/ig/adde?moduleurl=http://www.trackpackages.com/google.xml

Google Gadget XML - Add this URL directly in iGoogle where it says "Add by URL"

http://www.trackpackages.com/google.xml

Note to iGoogle users: Because the gadget contains some inline HTML, you will see a message from Google that reads "Module requires inlining". Click "OK" to enable the gadget -- you will only see this message once. The HTML allows us to update various carrier tracking paths when carriers change on as-needed basis.

The RSS version of also contains an additional drop down to search directly for the following carriers (in addition to UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL): Lone Star Overnight, Averitt Express and Con-Way.

Use the following URL for RSS feed readers:

http://www.trackpackages.com/rss.php

All retailers and auction sellers are invited to embed the search box into their web sites, email responses to customers, and any other part of the sales fulfillment process to make their package tracking much simpler.

Xobni Launches Gadget Platform and Store Developers Get an Easy Path into Microsoft Outlook Using OpenSocial APIs

Xobni Gadget Store

(PRWEB) May 03, 2011

Xobni, the relationship management service that helps people search and manage all their contacts and communication, today announced the new Xobni Gadget Platform and Store. The Gadget Store gives users direct access to leading productivity products, services and applications in Xobni for Outlook. Xobni for Outlook is the first desktop-based OpenSocial container, and it allows developers to integrate their services seamlessly into the email workflow.

For Users

Gadgets are now included as part of the Xobni sidebar, a leading Microsoft Outlook plugin with nearly seven million downloads. The Xobni Gadget Store includes free and paid gadgets ($ 9.99/year and 30 day free trial) and lets users choose from nearly 20 services and applications, including web-based document sharing, lead tracking, issue reporting and monitoring, note-taking, and more – all without leaving the inbox.

“For years, Xobni has given users access to Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter information for their contacts right in their inbox. Thanks to our partners and open standards, we’re now able to offer many more services that help users save time and effort,” said Jeff Bonforte, Xobni CEO. “This platform also gives developers an easy way to reach hundreds of millions of Outlook users, while using the same code for Gmail.”

The Xobni Gadget Store includes apps and products from a wide range of industry-leading partners:

Productivity Gadgets: Dropbox, Evernote, GoldMail, Google Translate, Atlassian JIRA, WebEx
Collaboration Gadgets: Huddle, Microsoft SharePoint, Salesforce Chatter, Yammer
Content Gadgets: Facebook, Flickr, Hoover’s, Klout, LinkedIn, Twitter, Xing, YouTube, Yelp
CRM Gadgets: Salesforce CRM

“The new Evernote gadget for Xobni eliminates one of the most difficult aspects of modern communication—remembering relevant notes, thoughts and details about individuals,” said Seth Hitchings, Evernote’s VP of Platform Strategy. “By adding Evernote to Xobni, users will now have access to both publicly available data and their own personal thoughts about the individuals they interact with, right from the inbox. We’re excited to have Xobni join our partner community and to offer our users another convenient and innovative solution to note taking.”

For Enterprises

In addition to helping end users, the Xobni Gadget Platform lets enterprises create private gadgets to make better use of existing software and services, making their employees more productive and effective.

“It’s great to see leading companies like Xobni bring open standards deeper into the enterprise and strengthen the open app ecosystem,” said Mark Weitzel, President of OpenSocial. “Using Xobni’s OpenSocial-based gadget platform, enterprises, developers and entrepreneurs can do something that wasn’t available to them before - quickly and easily create engaging social applications for Outlook that are based on open, standard APIs and built with common Internet technologies like HTML and Javascript.”

Xobni Business Solutions customers can deploy their own customized enterprise gadgets via the Xobni Enterprise Admin Portal.

Developers and enterprises interested in learning about the Xobni Gadget Platform or Xobni Business Solutions can visit http://www.xobni.com/developer/. Additionally, Xobni is hosting an event at their offices in SOMA on May 9th from 2:00 – 6:00 for any developers interested in hacking and exploring how to work their product or service into Outlook. Guest judges of the hack include Michael Arrington/TechCrunch, Joseph Smarr/Google and David Lee/SV Angel. Space is limited. RSVP here.
