What are the coolest Homemade Photography Gadgets?

July 17th, 2011 admin 1 comment

Question by Tyler: What are the coolest Homemade Photography Gadgets?
I've looked all over the web for innovative and unique DIY photography hacks and gadgets, but nothing pops out. Most of the projects are light boxes, flash diffusers, homemade stands, etc.

I was hoping somebody knows of an awesome (maybe even easy) DIY photography gadget project I could do. Maybe homemade filters?
My Equipment:
- Nikon D40 DSLR
- EOS Canon Rebel DSLR
- Stock 18-55mm lens
- Sigma 70-300 mm lens
- TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphing Calculator (for those camera-to-calculator hacks)
- Targus TGT-58TR Tripod
- Monopod
- Quantary Pro camera bag

Thank you so much! :)

with digital most the manipulation is done after in photoshop. Then manipulation through light. Different lighting can create some cool effects, as far as filters you need some thin glass and experiment putting different things on the glass like gels, liquids, ect of different colors and consistencies.

Sigma DP2 Camera Review: Boing Boing Gadgets

April 20th, 2011 admin 25 comments

Joel Johnson writes over at Boing Boing Gadgets: Should you buy the Sigma DP2? Only if you're in love with the sensor. While it's definitely a better choice than its predecessor and is not without its manual charms, its high price puts it in range of DSLRs and other cameras that come without as many limitations. Looking through a glass viewfinder is such a treat, though—too bad it doesn't seem to actually line up very well with the actual pictures. Join the discussion on this video over at Boing Boing Gadgets, where Joel has also uploaded a slideshow of unretouched images from the DP2! gadgets.boingboing.net
